Every meaningful transaction on Deep Space Nine is conducted with gold-pressed latinum as the currency. Quark and the other Ferengi, avatars of grotesque, unmitigated capitalism, live their lives to acquire it. ![]() When the phrase "gold-pressed latinum" is uttered in any Star Trek episode, it is synonymous with great value. And the thing I can't get out of my head is how ass-backwards this game's understanding of value in Star Trek is. Good - Something that is desired or approved of. It consists of latinum which is covered in gold. Gold-Pressed Latinum - A form of currency used primarily by the Ferengi. The idea of Gold-Pressed Latinum is a bar of latinum with gold around it. Gold pressed - It is not solid gold, instead the outside is covered in gold. Gold - A metallic element that was very precious on Earth. Genesis planet - A planet located in the Mutara sector that was created from gaseous matter in the Mutara Nebula and the hull of the USS Reliant following the detonation of the Genesis Device. Generator - A device that creates something else. GDF - Go Down Fighting (Tactical Ability) Gawk - Stare at something in an awkward way ![]() Gamma Quadrant - One of four quadrants in the Milky Way galaxy which is home to the Dominion. Galley - A section on a starship where food is prepared. One of which was the Enterprise led by Captain Picard. 2) A class of starship used by Starfleet.
